March 19, 2009, Cagayan de Oro City- NEDA-10 Northern Mindanao is still the biggest regional economy in Southern Philippines. It posted a 7.9% growth in 2007 surpassing the 6.9% growth in 2006. This was propelled by 8.9 percent improvement in the industry sector, 8% in services, and 6.7% in agriculture. |

Once again, Region X showed that it is the leading regional economy in Mindanao. In 2007, the region registered a 7.9 percent real growth in its gross regional domestic product, a further improvement of the 6.9 percent growth realized in 2006. Although this time, the Caraga Region registered the highest growth among Mindanao regions at 8.6 percent, Region X is still the biggest regional economy in Mindanao and is third, nationwide, in terms of per capita GRDP. |
